For years I have been an admirer of the pin up genre, I have a sizable collection of pin up books and collect reproductions of nose art from WW2 bombers. in 2011 after some fearful thinking and getting the nudge I needed I decided to start shooting my own pin up work, images that I have on a separate website called the Deadly Schoolgirl, which was named after a band i was in when I was much younger. Combine my love for pin up with my love for cosplay and you get some of the most fun photoshoots I have ever been on, and the Batman villains provide some of the best muses for this genre.
The DC comics provided some of the first truly strong female villains, and they were drawn like that, when you see her early iterations Catwoman was always dressed to the nines, and looked like a well to do woman, Poison Ivy in the 60’s was likewise a glamour icon, and so on, the ladies changed with the time sof course, now days Catwoman is dressed in skin tight spandex, Ivy wears only ivy, and Harley Quinn wears whatever she wants. but there is something about the girls of the 50’s that will always be special to me.
I have long had plans to shoot a series of Batman villains but things have always gotten in my way, usually money and time, I haven’t been behind a camera since last summer, something i would love to rectify soon. based on how things go with my hip reduction and my healing.
