One of the best parts about working in the Emergency Services field is that there are several options you can go into when your time on the streets is done or if you cant work the streets for an extended period of time. I went into dispatch in November of 2016, to be honest its not bad, I am working, I am contributing to my pension and I am working with several people who I have known for decades so that has made my transition much easier. Coming from the streets has helped me in visualizing what is going on in the trucks and on the calls, sadly it has also given me a bit of an arm chair quarterback mentality, i recognize this as me being jealous that they are out on the streets and I am riding the bench. Yesterday I was going through some files on my computer and came across my notice of workabiliy, Dr. Clohisy has me listed as being able to push a nd pull and do other activities by May 11th this is now my target date for being able to ride and start working my way back to something resembling my old life.
One thing i did promise myself is that if this works I will be removing processed sugars from my life, this will be a huge undertaking but I will do my best, will have to get ween myself off of that stuff over the course of a few weeks.
Surgery is happening Thursday but I am not entirely sure as to when I am supposed to be there, some notes say 0545 while others say 0630, when i called to confirm today I was told the nurses would call to let me know. So here we go.
