Korstog Training Updates

My side business has had some interesting changes in the last few months, in August we got our own space, an office in Saint Paul with access to a conference room for bigger classes. We have been teaching fairly regularly, although not quite as much as I need to be able to stay in the black. In an effort to diversify what we offer I set up agreements to be a drop shipping dealer for several companies that handle first aid and tactical supplies. This I hope will help by being a revenue stream outside of classes we teach, I did have to spend a bit of money in order to get things set up, so I am a little worried about that part of things, but at the end of the day I know I can sell everything at cost if needed and move on from there.

I am changing how I do my permit to carry classes, switching from a scheduled 8-hour class to 4 hours, which is better in line with the time it takes me to go through the information. I have set up my first Advanced first Aid class for late March, hopefully, the snow will be out by them so we can work outside. I am getting ready to start with my Korstog created courses, although I haven’t had a chance to schedule one of those yet, it’s coming. I need to find some committed folks who want to be instructors because I can send them out to do classes while still bringing in some revenue; unfortunately, the people who have said they want to be instructors have not panned out.

I am rapidly realizing I need a vacation, one where I don’t have to interact with anything or anyone so I can get my head screwed on straight, makes me wonder if going to the holiday inn down the street for a day and a night to spend some time writing and avoiding outside stimuli is appropriate, mostly because I don’t actually want to go very far, I could also just finish cleaning my garage, or the spare bedroom so I can go there and work on things. heck, I could just bite the bullet and get a comfy office chair and go there for a while, eat cereal and work on projects I have been setting on the back burner for years. I also need to fix our stairs at home, a task I am both looking forward to but also dreading. I am considering doing that over the Christmas holiday, especially if I can get Mrs. ZM and Little ZM out of the house. lots to deal with i guess
